Sometimes an artists' book consists of hundreds of separate little tasks done in repetition. It can be very meditative to repeat the same action over and over again (or sometimes it can make you crazy). Today my task was to paint boxes in the grid that is the end sheet paper for the book. Each end sheet is completely unique and is built color by color to reach a nice balance of colors, values, and spacing. It isn't even making me crazy!

Luckily, I am not the only person working on these hundreds of tasks! Michele Burgess, Nelle Martin, Amy Cordero, Sonja Jones and more of Brighton Press's talented staff are doing yeoman's work (yeowoman's work?) in putting together all the complicated little bits of paper, letterpress printing, making boxes, and all the rest.
